C-Cubed Ltd Launch PocketBalancer at Maintec 2009

UK based company C-Cubed Ltd will launch PocketBalancer their low cost PocketVibrA add-on for single and two plane balancing at Maintec 2009.
Following the success of PocketVibrA, their revolutionary portable vibration analyser, C-Cubed have done it again with the development of PocketBalancer - rotor balancing made easy.
PocketBalancer works exactly like the machine the garage uses to balance car tyres. One run to find the heavy spot, followed by a second run with a trial weight, it then works out exactly how much weight, and at what angle, is required to balance it. Just like a car tyre that is out of balance, any motor, pump or fan running out of balance will be subject to excessive vibration, which will cause premature failure if not corrected.
Additional features of PocketBalancer such as simplified built-in weight calculation and coast-down enable balancing to be done in as few runs as possible saving valuable time and money.
Unlike other units where trial weight placement is still a bit hit and miss, one of Pocket Balancer's technical innovations is to reduce the out of balance when placing the trial weight by working out where the heavy spot is. If the initial placement is wrong this often results in excessive vibration and the motor has to be shut down and tried again, which can add significantly to the time required to balance. To emphasise its importance, C-Cubed recently came across an application where the cost of stopping and starting the machine was approximately 10,000 USD. Saving just one run on this job would pay for the cost of a PocketBalancer nearly twice over!
Field trials at a balancing/rewind company here in the UK against a well known industry standard instrument (and one of the most accurate) went very well. The older instrument got the out-of-balance vibration down from 10mm/s to 1.1mm/s in one run, while PocketBalancer went from 10mm/s to 0.8mm/s . . . C-Cubed couldn't be happier!
