Original Press Release:

OrbitalMouse(TM), Button Style Pointer Features Ease of Use and High Reliability

STRATFORD, CONNECTICUT, OCTOBER 11, 2004. CTI Electronics introduces OrbitalMouse(TM), a rugged button style pointing device featuring ease of use and high reliability. With 360° freedom of movement, users can simply press on the button and move in the desired direction on the display screen. Patent pending software allows adjustment of the cursor speed to the application. Long-term durability, rated over 10 million cycles, is achieved with the use of gold plated terminals/contacts and a molded silicone rubber. The patented design eliminates vibration sensitivity and increases reliability over similar products that use membrane technology or membrane style connectors. All pointing devices are sealed to NEMA 4 (IP66), withstanding spills, wash-downs, and contaminants.

The OrbitalMouse product family serves both OEM and end user industrial/medical applications. OEM devices are offered with and without switches. Footprint dimensions on OEM devices measure from 1.65" x 2.05" and require less than 1/2 inch behind the panel. For end users the button style pointer, packaged in an enclosure with switches, is available in hand-held or desktop models. Devices with switches include an optional latching feature, with an LED indicator, to allow the user to execute drag functions without holding down the left switch. All devices guarantee "no drift". OrbitalMouse pointers are also featured in CTI's new integrated OrbitalMouse/keyboard product line.

OrbitalMouse interfaces include PS/2 and USB and are "plug and play" compatible with all computers. No special drivers or calibration is required. An optional backlit model, available in red or green, allows easy visual location of the pointing device and switches in dimly lit environments. Several cable lengths and styles are available.

Manufactured in the U.S.A. the OEM OM2200 model starts at $59.00/unit in quantities of 100. To order or for further information call (203) 386-9779 or visit our web site at www.ctielectronics.com.
