Butterfly Valves suit low pressure applications.

Press Release Summary:

Fly Ash Series Valves are available in 4-12 in. sizes and maintain median gap of .010 in. between valve disc/stem and bore. They rely upon compaction of line media to form seal. Featuring cast iron wafer style body, 17-4 PH one-piece stem, Zerk fittings, and high-temperature lubricant, valves may be placed between ASME/ANSI 125 or 150 lb flanges. They are suited for high heat and highly abrasive applications where immediate and bubble tight shutoff is not required.

New Fly Ash Butterfly Valves Meet Needs for Low Pressure, High Temperature & Abrasive Services

Ste. Genevieve MO--April 16, 2004--Ultraflo has announced a unique series of butterfly valves specially suited for low pressure, high heat and highly abrasive applications where immediate and bubble tight shutoff is not required. The Fly
Ash Series is available in 4"-12" sizes and maintains a median gap of .010" between the valve disc/stem and bore. These new compaction sealed valves rely upon compaction of the line media to form a seal - therefore eliminating the need for a resilient seat.

This design is ideal for fly ash collection systems in which the highly abrasive nature and high temperature of the media renders standard resilient seated butterfly valves useless, and the physical properties of fly ash are favorable for sealing. In applications where increased sealing assistance is required or media consistency in not favorable for compaction, an EPDM coated disc/stem is available to form a near bubble tight seal.

These valves are designed to be placed between ASME/ ANSI 125 or 150 lb. flanges. They feature a cast iron wafer style body, 17-4 PH one-piece stem, Zerk fittings and high temperature lubricant in stem bearing journals to minimize seizing and gaulding. External dimensions comply with ANSI Class 150 standards.
