Butterfly Valves suit automotive exhaust gas applications.

Press Release Summary:

Used to adjust back pressure of exhaust gases during engine testing, Z Series Valves do not give tight shut off, but can regulate flow of gas streams at temperatures up to 750°C. At this temperature, max differential pressure is 3.5 bar g. Wafer pattern valves are manufactured in 2-6 in. sizes and can be supplied to fit between different flange types. They can be manually operated, or pneumatically or electrically actuated with 4-20 mA positioners.

Butterfly Valve for Automotive Exhaust Gas Applications

K Controls have developed a Z Series stainless steel butterfly valve for high temperature automotive exhaust gas applications. The Z Series valve is frequently used to regulate the back pressure of exhaust gases during engine testing. The valves do not give a tight shut off but they can regulate the flow of exhaust gas streams at temperatures as high as 750 degrees C.

The maximum differential pressure at this temperature is 3.5 bar g.

The wafer pattern valves are manufactured in sizes 2" to 6".

They can be supplied to fit between different flange types eg ANSI 150, PN16 etc.

The valve can be manually operated (screw lockable in any position) or pneumatically or electrically actuated with 4-20mA positioners.

Actuated versions incorporate an extension stem designed to prevent heat from being conducted to the actuator.

Special adapters eg 2" flanged to 2" screwed NPT and mating high temperature gaskets can also be supplied.

The Z Series valves are used by a variety of companies in both the USA and UK who are carrying out testing on petrol and diesel engines and their associated lubricants and exhaust systems.

K Controls supplies UK users directly and US users via an agent based in Detroit.
