Press Release Summary:
Tufline high performance butterfly valves feature axially pliant seals. They include 2 components: outer segment of chemically inert, glass-reinforced PTFE; and deformation-resistant, memory-core membrane. Capable of handling virtually any material, these butterfly valves are available in soft-seated, fire-tested and high-temperature models. Pressure ratings include ANSI class 150, 300 and 600 in sizes up to 72 in.
Original Press Release:
Xomox's High Performance Butterfly Valves Feature Patented Axially Pliant Seal
CINCINNATI, Ohio, Dec. 14 - Xomox, a manufacturer of quarter-turn type process valves for over 45 years, provides its Tufline high performance butterfly valve with an axially pliant seal that extends service life.
The design is simple: There are no springs to break, no 0-rings to swell and no metal hoops to corrode; there is also no radial stretch. When the valve closes, the axial movement of the seat in the direction of the flow produces a pressure-assisted, leak-tight seal. As line pressure increases, the seal tightens.
Bi-directional flow and shutoff are easily accommodated; the same simple movement of the seat assures a reliable seal in either direction.
It includes two components - an outer segment of chemically inert, glass reinforced PTFE, and a deformation-resistant, memory-core membrane. Another important design feature: the HPBV's retainer ring eclipses the seal, thus protecting it from erosion and abrasion.
The Xomox Tufline high performance butterfly valves - capable of handling virtually any material - are available in soft-seated, fire-tested and high-temperature models. Pressure ratings include ANSI class 150, 300, and 600 in sizes up to 72
inches.
