Vic-300 MasterSeal Butterfly Valves' Patented Design and Features Provide Seamless Installation Into Piping Systems
EASTON, Pa., (June 1, 2004) - Victaulic Company announced today the launch of Vic-300 MasterSeal butterfly valves that feature a patent-pending seat design to ensure full 360-degree sealing. The pressure-enhanced seat deforms to create a wider seating area as the pressure increases, and the design also contributes to the valves' low breakaway torque capabilities. Vic-300 MasterSeal butterfly valves are equipped with blow-out proof stainless steel stems utilizing Teflon-impregnated upper and lower stem bushings to reduce the torque required to close the valves. The stem seals prevent leakage of media and are housed by a patented seal cartridge. Each Vic-300 MasterSeal butterfly valve is offered with a latchlock, infinitely variable lever handle that includes a memory stop or gear operator with a chainwheel option, and can easily be configured into three-way assemblies. A 2-inch neck extension is available when additional insulation is needed. Other product features include an electroless, nickel-coated, ductile iron disc; a drive hub designed to accept most types of actuation; an ISO mounting flange that accepts ISO standard actuators; and a rectangular drive designed to prevent replacement errors and eliminate fasteners in the flow stream. Constructed of ductile iron conforming to ASTM A-536 standards, Vic-300 MasterSeal butterfly valves are available in 2-inch through 12-inch sizes (60,3 mm - 323,9 mm). The butterfly valves are designed for bi-directional, dead-end services to full working pressure, and are rated to 300 psi WOG (2068 kPa). Seats are available in Grade E (EPDM), Grade T (Lubricated Nitrile) or Grade O (fluoroelastomer).
