Eaton Introduces the Pow-R-Flex(TM) Low Ampere Busway Providing Customers with Flexible Power Distribution Solutions

PITTSBURGH ... Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation today announced that its Pow-R-Flex(TM) low ampere busway product, which provides flexible power distribution solutions where adapting quickly to new conditions is important, is now available for commercial and industrial applications. These applications include data centers, laboratories, machining shops and light manufacturing facilities.

"Pow-R-Flex busway is one of the most significant innovations in power distribution," said Mark Mull, global product manager, busway products, Eaton Corporation. "Its lightweight durability, product integrity, flexible neutral and ground options, ability to meet almost every power need and extensive product support, make it ideal in a wide range of environments."

The product's heavy-duty design is aesthetically pleasing featuring an extruded aluminum housing, two standard color options, a shutter mechanism, safe plug-in outlets, an integral ground path and high short-circuit withstand ratings. The Pow-R-Flex world-class design meets the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA®) and Underwriters Laboratories (UL®) requirements. It can be fitted with receptacles up to 60 amperes and 480 volts.

Accessory fittings for the Pow-R-Flex busway make installation easy. The fittings include wall flanges to seal the cutout opening around the busway as it passes through the wall; hangers to help suspend and stabilize the busway, and a comprehensive array of hardware.

Pow-R-Flex busway comes in a variety of plug-in units that are designed with installer and user safety in mind. Key features include positive ground contact, guide tabs, interface bracket, door interlock, line-side barriers, outlet seating ridge and mounted flanges.

The plug-in unit design makes Pow-R-Flex busway the industry's most versatile line of receptacle units. Available in single, double and quad receptacles, Pow-R-Flex busway can be adapted to almost any application and fixed-mounted to the front of the enclosure, or cord-mounted from the bottom of the unit.

Surge protection devices (SPDs) are available as options to all Pow-R-Flex units. Besides offering protection from high-energy surges, such as lightning, they protect against internally generated surges resulting from arc welders, adjustable frequency controllers, and the switching on and off of electrical distribution equipment. The Eaton's SPD combines metal oxide varistors (MOVs) for suppression, and filtering capacitors to eliminate electrical noise and ringing transients.
