ADP Announces Its Third-Party Access Program

HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill., Feb. 2 -- The Dealer Services Group of Automatic Data Processing Inc. (NYSE:ADP) today announced the launch of its Third-Party Access Program. To provide a robust set of APIs and system functionality for access to dealership data, ADP is expanding upon its Open API Program with its comprehensive Third-Party Access Program. ADP's Third-Party Access Program consists of three different levels of access to dealership data to choose from.

-- Third-Party Basic Access -- Dealer provides access to third party through dealer supplied user IDs and strong passwords as well as dealer provided modem access. Dealer maintains responsibility for system and data access.
-- ADP Third-Party Subscriber Access -- ADP delivers high speed VPN Internet access and advanced system security and auditing tools. Dealer maintains responsibility for data access.
-- ADP Third-Party Integration -- This is the highest level of access and auditing that a third party and the dealer can enjoy. Third-Party Integration includes bi-directional interface, real time access and standardized and cleansed options. ADP provides advanced security and auditing tools for system and data access.

"ADP has always understood that dealerships own their data and enjoy having choices on how best to share and utilize that data," said Dan McCray, vice president of product marketing for ADP Dealer Services. "Through its Third-Party Access Program ADP can provide varying levels of security and access allowing dealers and third parties to choose the option that best fits their dealership."

ADP recently joined the Open Secure Access (OSA) organization in order to support its policy in regard to third-party access. ADP supports the five key principles outlined by OSA that allow dealers to maintain access to their data.

1. ADP has a solid history of providing programs that ensure that dealerships can utilize their data to better manage their business.
2. ADP has been a strong contributor in working with other industry participants, including third parties and manufacturers, in maintaining a cooperative approach to dealers' access to their data as well as providing levels of security.
3. ADP's Open API Program has provided access for third-party vendors that have the dealer's permission to utilize the dealer's data.
4. It is ADP's goal to provide technically advanced tools to allow third-party integration with dealership data.
5. ADP believes in the fair competitive environment and does not use its leverage through supply of the dealer management system to reduce competition through the restriction of data access.

ADP currently has more than 90 application providers participating in its programs providing ADP dealership customers the following benefits:

-- Superior input of data which provides easier system management and additional level of information protection
-- Elimination of double data entry
-- Support for authorized vendors by ADP Dealer Services
-- Reduction of headaches dealing with third-party "hostile" interfaces
-- Advanced knowledge of ADP's information for the DMS which reduces future downtime

ADP's Third-Party Access Program has recently added additional participants to the 90 existing members including Enterprise, Security Enterprises I (Key Kontrol), MOC1 Solutions, Mobile Productivity, Rome Technologies, Expresslink, Dupont, Zevez and Northern Apex.
