Whiting Introduces Electro-Mechanical Bus Lift System

After years of Product Research and Engineering Development, Whiting Corporation will introduce an Electro-Mechanical Bus Lift System at the APTA International Public Transportation Expo 2005 in Dallas on September 26-28. This new system is ideal for customers considering either the installation of new bus lift equipment or the replacement of existing hydraulic bus lift systems.

This electro-mechanical design provides the means to avoid those environmental exposures that have historically been associated with the use of lifting designs that utilize hydraulic operating systems.

When replacing existing equipment, the Electro- Mechanical Bus Lift System from Whiting can utilize the existing caisson for the vertical travel of the rear hoist. The engineered features of the system accommodate the use of an existing pit so that the front hoist is able to move horizontally to adjust for various bus lengths.

The new Whiting system has proven reliability. This equipment is installed and has been operating successfully, with heavy usage, for eighteen months.
