Fieldline Modular Bus Coupler Measures Digital Signals
The new Fieldline Modular bus coupler with eight digital inputs from Phoenix Contact couples a Fieldline Modular local bus station to an Ethernet network and is also used for measuring digital signals.
The integrated, manageable 3-port switch makes the implementation of a line structure possible. A transmission rate of 10 Mbit/s or 100 Mbit/s is automatically selected by the device (autonegotiation). The interfaces can automatically interchange the receive and transmit cables (autocrossover).
The FLM BK ETH M12 DI8 M12 bus coupler supports the following network protocols: Modbus/TCP, Modbus/UDP and DDI (Device Driver Interface).
As a lower-level bus the Ethernet bus coupler provides a powerful local bus with a selectable transmission rate from 500 Kbaud to 2 Mbaud. The total length of the local bus is 20 m and it can connect up to 16 I/O units. The sensor supply is short-circuit and overload-protected and thus guarantees high system availability. The diagnosis and status displays for power supply, network, and local bus operation with corresponding monitoring functions reduce bus downtime and provide support if service becomes necessary.
