Bus Controller suits piping systems with automated valves.

Press Release Summary:

Used in piping systems with 8 or more electrically or pneumatically actuated valves, Bus Control System allows all actuators in system to be controlled by PLC with one pair of wires. Actuators are daisy chained on same pair of wires, with each actuator assigned unique address for identification by PLC. Only designated actuator has ability to read and act on control instructions. In addition to control simplification, system also reduces wiring complexity.

Bus Technology Saves Money in Piping Systems with Automated Valves

Now system operators can save money on multiple automated valve installations with a Bus Control System from Hayward. This system provides for easier, less expensive installation and maintenance.

Systems that utilize 8 or more electric or pneumatically actuated valves can take advantage of a Bus Control System. Hayward Bus Technology allows all of the actuators in the system to be controlled by a PLC with just a single pair of wires. In conventional installations a bundle of power and signal wires run from the PLC or control station to each actuator. Depending on the features of the actuator there could be up to nine wires running to each one. In many applications the number of wires can run into the hundreds.

With the Hayward Bus Control System there is only a single pair of wires used to control all of the actuators in the system. The actuators are daisy chained on the same pair of wires with each actuator assigned a unique address that identifies it to the PLC. Only the designated actuator has the ability to read and act on the control instructions intended for it.

Not only does the Hayward Bus Control System reduce installation costs, it makes it easier and less expensive to maintain the system because of the far fewer wire runs that need to be troubleshooted in case of a system problem. The most savings are realized by systems with 8 or more actuated valves located 50 feet or more from the controlling PLC.
