Buckeye Shapeform Launches VersaFlex Enclosure Line

Buckeye Shapeform Accommodates New Design in Final Stage of Project

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Buckeye Shapeform recently launched the VersaFlex Sheet Metal Enclosure, which offers optimal flexibility in design. And thanks to Buckeye Shapeform's one-stop services, it was able to modify a customized design in a project's final stage for Spirent Communications.

The VersaFlex addresses strict RFI/EMI shielding requirements for the electronic packaging industry, doesn't utilize extrusions and is made from steel and aluminum. It offers a professional aesthetic look that appropriately showcases technology. An internal side panel accommodates mounting of internal components without fasteners being seen on the outside. It has excellent metal-to-metal contact to give an optimal base for a shielded enclosure, and shielding capabilities can be further enhanced. A durable powder coat finishes all parts, although the front panel is anodized and the rear panel is finished in clear conductive coating.

The versatility of the VersaFlex is exemplified through Buckeye Shapeform's work with Spirent Communications, a leading provider of testing solutions and service management tools for communications companies. A Buckeye Shapeform client for over a decade, Spirent Communications needed a customized enclosure with enough room for a computer network testing machine, the EV-DO Network Emulator, and a key component built by a third-party manufacturer. Buckeye Shapeform began to modify its VersaFlex to meet Spirent's needs under a tight holiday season deadline. During the final stage of the project, Spirent's third-party manufacturer discontinued its component and launched a new product in its place. Buckeye Shapeform was able to redesign the VersaFlex to house the new component and delivered the final product in less than six weeks. "The VersaFlex is one of our most customizable enclosures at Buckeye Shapeform. We were able to make last-minute changes on the EV-DO Network Emulator due to our flexible product and our commitment to respond and finish the job quickly with quality results," said Buckeye Shapeform President Ken Tumblison.
