New account highlights wave of recent wins for Canadian telecom equipment company

Montreal, Canada, January 18, 2008 -- Blueslice Networks, the leading provider of subscriber management solutions for the Mobile, VoIP, FMC, and M2M markets, announced today that British Telecom has selected the Blueslice Converged Subscriber Platform 3000(TM), including its next generation Home Location Register, to help power their mobile service in Spain.

BT recently announced the launch of their mobile operation in Spain. Operating on the Vodafone network, BT Spain's mobility service is the first of its kind in the Spanish market and will be aimed at businesses and the public sector.

BT Spain is having their network selected, assembled, and operated by Alcatel-Lucent's MPLUG division. At its core, the Blueslice subscriber platform will allow BT to consolidate multiple services and their associated subscriber profiles. With their solution set now spanning fixed networking, IT, mobile, email, and customized enterprise applications, BT can offer its customers a single supplier for all their IT services with one bill and a consistent customer experience. As a converged service provider powered by Alcatel-Lucent and Blueslice, BT will be able to accelerate the deployment of innovative mobility services such as fixed-mobile convergence, advanced roaming, multimedia, IP PBX, and location based services.

According to David Remaud, MPLUG Business Unit Manager at Alcatel-Lucent, a hosted network provides significant cost benefits, simplicity, and a competitive advantage, and is emerging as a global trend for all breeds of mobile operator. "The Alcatel-Lucent hosted service, combined with the ngHLR/HSS from Blueslice, offers considerable benefits for operators," said Remaud. "BT's addition of mobility will enhance their existing enterprise services and bring fresh competition into the Spanish market."

"Now boasting mobility, BT can offer its corporate and government users a full end-to-end communications service portfolio," said Stephan Ouaknine, President and CEO of Blueslice Networks. "By initiating the convergence process at the subscriber level, BT becomes a converged solution provider instead of just a bill-stapler. Blueslice leads the ngHLR and HSS market in providing this subscriber convergence solution."
