A New Line of SMI Brushless DC Servo "Mighty-Mite" Motors
Servo Magnetics Inc. - Canoga Park, CA; a high performance electric motor manufacturer, introduces a new line of brushless dc servo motors in two popular frame sizes. Based on the 22mm and 36mm frame sizes the simple, rugged housing was developed with flexibility in mind. The length of the motor is easily customized to meet specific customer requirements including X-Y positioning tables, semiconductor manufacturing equipment, high-speed servos, flow control valves, and other industrial process equipment.
These lines of motors feature a very low inertia and thus, are very responsive. Typical operating speeds between 2,000 to 8000 RPM, with continuous stall torques ranging from 2 oz-in to 20 oz-in. For a complete motion package, these motors can be supplied with 2000 quad count optical encoder as well as optional Acme screw output.
