Broadest BASF Portfolio Ever to Be Displayed at 2007 International Builders' Show

Diverse Offering That Makes Homes and Home-Building Better

o Platinum LEED-H Certification for Near-Zero Energy Home

FLORHAM PARK, N.J., Jan. 30 -- BASF will showcase a broad portfolio of products and technologies that help builders construct more durable, energy efficient homes faster and more cost-effectively at the 2007 International Builders' Show, Feb. 7-10, at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla.

As a result of the recent acquisition of the Construction Chemicals business of Degussa, visitors to booth S11941 will see examples of the extensive BASF offer to the home building industry that now ranges from EIFS and stucco wall system materials to a broad array of high energy efficiency insulating materials to weatherproofing and repair/restoration materials to eco-friendly metal coatings to durable, scratch resistant plastics for exterior building materials to termite control.

Experts will be available throughout the week to discuss how customers can improve their operations and buildings using BASF's technologies and products from the following areas.

o BASF Building Systems delivers customer value by providing experience,
technologies and products that create real economic benefits for
builders with products such as deck coatings and waterproofing; joint
sealants; concrete repair materials; grouts; water repellants; wall
coatings; concrete strengthening; cures and surface treatments; flooring
surfaces; performance flooring; bonding and chemical fastening;
retarders and release agents.

o BASF Wall Systems offers peace of mind to the construction team by
providing the ability to choose your facade system and build with
confidence. New for 2007, PermaLath® 1000 is a line extension of BASF
Wall Systems' patent-pending, labor-saving glass fiber lath technology,
designed for use in thicker Portland cement plaster (stucco)
applications of 1/2" up to 7/8" as well as in veneer stone applications.

o BASF Specialty Styrenics provides excellent weatherability and low
maintenance performance for exterior applications with Luran® S ASA
plastic for UV resistant and color fast hand railings, trim, siding and
composite lumber. In addition, Basotect® extra lightweight,
fiber-free melamine foams provide excellent temperature and sound
insulation and fire protection for homes.

o BASF Styrenic Foams provides Styropor® insulating foam that simplifies
design and yields considerable cost and value benefits in building
construction with product applications that include foundation, wall
cavity, wall siding and roof insulations, as well as expandable
polystyrene (EPS) cores in structural insulated panels (SIPs) and
insulated concrete forms (ICFs).

o BASF Polyurethane Foam Enterprises delivers the best insulating air
barrier performance available for walls and roofs with closed-cell,
spray-applied polyurethane foam (SPF) products such as COMFORT FOAM®
and SPRAYTITE® for residential construction and WALLTITE® for
commercial and multi-unit residential construction, ZERODRAFT®
insulating air sealants in kits and cans as well as pour-installed
polyurethane foam cores for SIPs.

o BASF Polyurethane Specialty Systems provides custom-blended
two-component high performance urethane material systems for a wide
range of construction applications that offer durability and energy
efficiency with superior thermal performance, including foam cores for
SIP panels and all types of sealant and adhesive applications.

o BASF Polyurethane Basic Chemicals provides customers with building block
chemicals, such as Lupranate® MDI, TDI and Pluracol® polyether
polyols, for processing into a variety of construction products
including rigid foams, binders for engineered wood, coatings, adhesives,
sealants and elastomers. Lupranate® isocyanates, for example, are
used as binders to produce composite wood panels and oriented strand
board for construction applications creating wood composites with strong
internal bonds and excellent water resistance.

o BASF Industrial Coatings provides eco-friendly coil and extrusion
coatings such as ULTRA-Cool® for metal substrates that are used in a
wide range of building products including sidewalls, windows, garage
doors, rain ware as well as for metal roof coatings that lower roof
temperatures by up to 40 degrees Fahrenheit.

o BASF Performance Chemicals' Oppanol® polyisobutylene (PIB) helps
create more effective sealants and caulks. In "warm-edge" double-glazing
window applications, Oppanol PIB helps reduce heat loss better than
conventional aluminum spacer systems. Protectol CX(TM) Type A chromium
-- and arsenic-free wood preservative protects against wood-destroying
fungi and insects using a proprietary copper-HDO technology that has
been approved by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency

o BASF Specialty Products supplies Termidor® termiticide, the most
effective and fastest treatment to completely eliminate termites from
inside and around the home.

Finally, the U.S. Green Building Council recently awarded BASF's Near-Zero Energy House in Paterson, N.J., a "platinum" LEED-H (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design Home) certification. Only the second home in the United States to receive this prestigious certification, the Near-Zero Energy House utilizes BASF building and construction technologies that make the home 80 percent more energy efficient, more durable and faster to construct than conventionally built homes.
