Broadcast Pix Shows Expanded Product Line, Including Standalone Replay and 3D Graphics Systems at IBC 2014

Billerica, Massachusetts – Broadcast Pix™ will showcase its new standalone fX3D real-time 3D graphics and ReVue HD slow motion replay systems at IBC 2014 (Stand 7.B21), which runs Sept. 12-16 at Amsterdam RAI. The company will also demonstrate its ClearKey next generation chromakey, which is part of new Version 3.0 software for Flint™ and Version 4.0 software for Granite™ and Mica™ integrated production switchers, as well as spotlight its expanded family of Flint systems and VOX™ visual radio solutions.

“It’s an exciting time for us at Broadcast Pix. Business is growing and so is our product line,” said Steve Ellis, CEO of Broadcast Pix. “We received some very positive feedback at U.S. trade shows earlier this year, and now we’re excited to bring our new ReVue and fx3D standalone products to IBC.”

Developed in collaboration with strategic partner EditShare, ReVue plays back two or four channels of video in sync, so it is easy to cut between cameras and find the best replay angle. Its compact controller includes a jog/shuttle wheel for reviewing footage, intuitive controls for manual and preset playback speeds, and dedicated buttons for marking in and out points for playback. At IBC, ReVue will be paired with Granite X, the company’s flagship integrated production switcher, to showcase its features.

Both ReVue and fX3D can be tightly integrated with Broadcast Pix systems or work independently in existing production environments. fX3D’s simplified end-to-end graphics workflow makes it easy to create and playout high-end graphics. Three software modules provide an intuitive interface to create graphic content, complete with a built-in 3D modeler and template-based rundown controller.

The new ClearKey chromakey handles challenging visuals and creates more realistic shadow and lighting effects with its precise, highly adjustable keying. Robust color correction removes the most stubborn spill from chromakeyed objects, while its key crop function can confine the keying effect to certain areas of the screen. Intuitive controls make it easy to adjust chromakey color as well as lighting, shadow and spill correction effects. ClearKey is part of Broadcast Pix’s Fluent™ workflow software, which also provides built-in robotic camera control with preset or manual control, file-based macros, clip servers, customizable multi-view, internal graphics and titling, and other tools for every integrated production switcher.

All three Flint models - the entry-level LE, four-input LX and six-input LS - handle the entire production workflow, from ingest to distribution, with a multi-format production switcher that allows operators to include cloud-based content from Skype, Twitter and other resources during live productions. Other built-in tools include an internal Inscriber CG, two-channel clip server, audio mixer with on-screen stereo faders and VU meters, customizable multi-view and HD streaming. All models also include two network inputs to include content from remote computers.

Broadcast Pix will also showcase VOX Lite, a small-scale version of its popular VOX voice-automated visual radio solution, which works with any Flint, Granite or Mica system. Both VOX systems eliminate the need for an operator for live productions, as sophisticated software detects which microphone is in use and switches cameras for automatic video-follow-audio productions. VOX Lite supports up to four microphones and provides a cost effective solution for small-market radio stations.
