Broadcast Pix Delivers Video Production Systems to Customers Worldwide

Billerica, Massachusetts - As Broadcast Pix(TM) demonstrates new software and systems at the 2011 NAB Show (North Hall, Booth N4506), which runs through April 14 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nev., the company is also celebrating recent sales of its Granite(TM) and Slate(TM) live video production systems in a variety of U.S. and international markets.

"The Broadcast Pix family of satisfied customers continues to grow worldwide. We continue to be the leader in live production systems because we offer the most innovative control surfaces connected through a command center that allow you to weave together cameras, clips, and graphics to create compelling live video," said Arco Groenenberg, vice president of sales for Broadcast Pix. "With the addition of Granite 2000 and our new 500 systems, which we are showcasing at NAB, we anticipate even wider acceptance by broadcasters, educators, sports venues, houses of worship, and government and corporate installations in the United States and around the world."

Among its recent clientele:

o Red Bull Media House in Austria installed a Granite 5000 system. The multimedia production company produces a variety of HD programming for its television channel, ServusTV, which is available in Europe via satellite as well as Austria, Germany, and Switzerland via cable. Red Bull also offers video content online and through mobile devices.

o Premiere Entertainment, a division of NEP Broadcasting based in Van Nuys, Calif., upgraded to Granite 2000 in its Premiere West truck. The company produces live, multi-camera coverage of red carpet events, concerts, award shows, and other high-profile entertainment events for television, theaters, and the Web. According to Brad Sexton, vice president of digital, the system has already been used for its first project, and will be covering two events this week.

o The Institute of Technical Education (ITE) in Singapore already had Slate systems for its teaching lab, but added Granite 5000 for large events that will be hosted on campus. The new Granite system is part of a complete HD production system, which will be used in a new facility.

o West Angeles Church of God in Christ, just west of downtown Los Angeles with more than 25,000 members, installed Granite 5000 to stream live coverage of Sunday services to more than 100,000 viewers each week. The same system is also used to provide image magnification (IMAG) for the congregation. Media director Will Hampton said the new system has made their production workflow much cleaner and improved its productions.

At NAB, Broadcast Pix is introducing two new live video production systems, Granite 500 and Slate 500, which feature a new compact control panel and significantly lower the entry point for Broadcast Pix systems with a control panel. The company is also demonstrating its new Granite 2.0 and Slate 8.5 software, which adds playlists, improves chromakey and key priority controls, provides remote control of streaming appliances, offers an enhanced Harris CG for Slate, and provides ProRes clips and QuickTime Animation playback and an optional Chyron CG for Granite.

Another recent addition to the Granite family of live video production systems, Granite 2000 features a wide 1 M/E control panel with a much larger work area than the popular Granite 1000. It adds more device controls to provide faster access to the full complement of Granite's built-in Fluent file stores for clips, animations, and graphics (including ones from the built-in CG), as well as controls for external devices. The control panel also includes a dedicated bank of controls for Fluent(TM) Macros, the industry's only file-based macros, to create powerful effects.

Broadcast Pix systems are a fraction of the cost of a conventional control room to buy, staff and operate. Systems are available in both HD Granite and hybrid Slate systems. They range from small systems controlled by a touch-screen, mouse, iPad or Droid, to sophisticated 2 M/E control panels.
