Bresle Patch Kit determines level of surface contaminants.

Press Release Summary:

To test surfaces in accordance with ISO 8504-6 and ISO/DIS 8502-9, Bresle Patch is adhered to test surface and distilled water is pumped into patch using syringe. Water is pumped between patch and substrate, causing soluble salts on test surface to be dissolved into water. Water is then extracted and measured with supplied conductivity meter. Bresle Patches are supplied with Bresle Test Kits, and replacement patches can be purchased for existing kits.

Bresle Patch Kit Conductometric Determination of Soluble Contamination

It is essential that the level of contaminants on a surface is measured prior to coating in order to ensure the quality of the coating and that its optimum lifetime is achieved. If the coating is applied to a contaminated surface which is not properly prepared, it could fail prematurely resulting in costly re-coating and high maintenance costs.

Many inspectors have to test surfaces in accordance with ISO 8504-6 and ISO/DIS 8502-9 which specify tests using the Bresle Patch as the method of extracting the soluble salts from the test surface. The Bresle Patch is adhered to the test surface and distilled water is pumped into the patch using a syringe. The water is pumped between the patch and the substrate which causes the soluble salts on the test surface to be dissolved into the water. The water is then extracted and measured with the conductivity meter supplied. Bresle Patches are supplied with Bresle Test Kits and replacement patches can now be purchased for use with existing test kits.
