Press Release Summary:
Fail-safe Series SSB incorporates zero-backlash, permanent-magnet brake and torsionally rigid coupling to accept misalignment. Dual bearings allow greater overhung loads created by drive-belt pulleys, chain sprockets, and gearheads. Brake is available in 6 models, for NEMA 23, 34, and 42 sizes. Applications include robotics, linear, and rotary actuators, multi-axis positioning tables, material handling, and CNC tools.

Electroid's Stepper-Servo Brakes Offer "Plug-In" Convenience
SPRINGFIELD, NJ - ELECTROID COMPANY, of Springfield, New Jersey is offering its convenient line of SSB Series of front end brakes, specifically designed for braking applications on Stepper and Servo Motors.
The SSB Series is compact and powerful. Easy to install, requiring only minutes to assemble, its Failsafe* Brake design offers a high degree of safety, especially during a power failure.
Designed specifically to simply "plug in" to a Stepper or Servo Motor, the SSB incorporates a zero backlash permanent magnet brake and a torsionally rigid coupling to accept misalignment. The dual bearings allow greater overhung loads created by drive belt pulleys, chain sprockets and gearheads. The permanent magnet brake provides extremely fast response times and very low inertia.
Suitable for a wide variety of industrial applications, such as robotics, linear and rotary actuators, multi-axis positioning tables, material handling, CNC tools and systems, etc., Electroid's SSB Series is available in six models, all featuring:
- Permanent magnet brake
- Fast response time with zero backlash
- IP65 splashproof and dustproof protection
- High torque output
- Torsionally rigid coupling
- High speeds and low inertia
- Dual preloaded sealed bearings
- Black anodized aluminum housing
- 24 and 90 VDC available
- Available for NEMA 23, 34 and 42 sizes
Also available as options are mil spec connectors, special configurations, bi-stable brakes and higher torque permanent magnet brakes.
