Brady Announces Firmware Upgrades for BBP®31 & BBP®85 Label Printers

Upgrades bring added label creation versatility and functionality to these powerful printers

MILWAUKEE, Wis. — Brady (NYSE:BRC), a global leader in industrial and safety printing systems and solutions, today announced new firmware upgrades for the BBP®31 and BBP®85 sign and label printers. The upgrades bring added printing options to customers, including additional graphics and label creation applications.

"Our BBP31 and BBP85 printers have already proven to be valuable tools for our customers," says Lori Aeschbacher, global product manager for benchtop printers at Brady. "This update expands the capabilities of these printers, making them an even greater asset in the workplace. Users have 100s of new graphics to choose from and new label apps that make label creation easier than ever. The GHS label app, for example, allows users to create and print GHS labels directly to the printer, without needing to install third party software."

The new upgrade includes:

  • Shapes category under "Graphics"

  • ISO category under "Graphics"

  • 2D bar codes, including QR codes

  • Option to set a label width that is smaller than the width of the installed tape

  • Built-in GHS Label creation application

  • Built-in Gradient Scale application (BBP85 printer only due to multi-color printing requirement)

New firmware upgrades for the BBP31 and BBP85 printers will ship with the printers going forward. For current users, the free upgrades are also available for download online: BBP85 firmware upgrade or BBP31 firmware upgrade.
