Bosch Rexroth to Supply Linear Motion Products to Semicon Automation Company

Bosch Rexroth announces agreement to provide Ball Rail linear motion guides with cleanroom greases for semiconductor, flat panel and related manufacturing.

(Pleasanton, CA - www.boschrexroth-us.com) The Bosch Rexroth Corporation announced it will provide precision linear motion solutions for a leading semiconductor automation company located in Fremont, CA, with manufacturing in Asia.

Under the agreement implemented from its Technology Center West in Pleasanton, CA, Bosch Rexroth will supply Ball Rail linear motion guides with cleanroom greases. Also in the testing stage are precision rolled ball screws.

The customer, who makes automation equipment for semiconductor, flat panel display and related industries, prefers to remain anonymous for proprietary reasons.

Lisa Cavolina, Key Account Manager at the Bosch Rexroth Technology Center West, said the relationship was solidified earlier this year after a team had worked together to make what she called the "global handshake" possible.

"When we entered the relationship, our customer was in the midst of an aggressive cost-reduction program which we were able to support by meeting their cost models and product improvement goals," Cavolina said. "Bosch Rexroth has capabilities all around the world, so we are providing engineering services, product samples and testing from both California and our Charlotte, NC facility, while Bosch Rexroth in Asia supplies the components and local support for the customer's manufacturing located there. It really is a seamless and ideal relationship," she added.

In the semiconductor manufacturing industry Bosch Rexroth offers drive, motion, and control products for front- and back-end equipment, interbay automated material-handling systems, and support equipment-covering electronic drives and controls, linear motion, and pneumatics. Our servo motors, drives, and controls, HMIs, and I/O systems allow precise multi-axis controls. Linear motion Ball Rail® systems cover the range of speeds, precision, and load capacity and include cleanroom-certified systems. A pneumatics line, beyond miniature and standard valves and cylinders, includes non-contact transfer units, rotary indexers, wafer-handling frames, and grippers. Beyond our drive and control products, we provide cleanroom-certified structural aluminum framing that allows fast configuration of everything from workstations to work cells.

Bosch Rexroth AG, part of the Bosch Group, achieved sales of approximately $6.2 billion (4.9 billion Euro) in 2006 with over 29,800 employees. Under the brand name of Rexroth the company offers all drive and control technologies, from mechanics, hydraulics and pneumatics to electronics and associated service. Over 500,000 customers worldwide utilize Rexroth's unique technological know-how to implement their innovative and future-oriented systems and machine concepts. The global player, represented in over 80 countries, is an extensive supplier of components and systems for industrial and factory automation and mobile applications.
