Bosch Rexroth to Exhibit Latest CNC and Components for Highly Productive Machine Automation Solutions at FABTECH 2015

Bosch Rexroth will be exhibiting at FABTECH 2015 in booth S2324 at McCormick Place in Chicago, IL, November 9-12.

The booth will showcase a range of drive and control technologies to help manufacturers improve productivity. Highlights include:

Scalable CNC solutions with new multi-touch operator panels

Electric and hydraulic drives with multi-Ethernet functionality

IP65 cabinet-free electric drives and power supplies

Safe Motion integrated directly into the drive

Scalable Safety PLC solutions

Roller/Ball rails with integrated measurement systems

Intelligent variable-speed hydraulic pump drives

New resistance welding control options (adaptive/monitoring)

Smart Applications and software tools for Industrial Internet of Things and Industry 4.0

IndraMotion MTX CNC

Rexroth's IndraMotion MTX family of CNC machine tool controls provide open and scalable platforms for forming, punching/nibbling, shape cutting (laser, plasma, waterjet), additive processes, traditional metal cutting and other applications. The newest platform version features multi-core hardware models CML 75 and CML 85. The CML 85 supports 60 parallel NC-channels and control of up to 250 axes (up from 99 axes) on just one controller. In addition, the control supports both electric and hydraulic axes. The system includes Industry 4.0 capabilities with open interfaces to the IT world, a WebConnector webserver (OPC UA), multi-touch operating HMI solutions with optional real-time machine visualization, and Cycle Time Analyzer software to help reduce cycle times.

New PRC 7000 Medium-Frequency Welding Controller

The new PRC 7000 resistance welding controller is designed for applications up to 320 kA and features intuitive operation for 90 percent faster commissioning and easier parameterization, visualization and diagnostics. With adaptive control and monitoring, Rexroth's welding controller provides superb weld point quality, even for complex combinations of metals.

Sytronix Variable-Speed Pump Drives for Presses

The Sytronix FcP (frequency controlled pump drive) is an energy-efficient, variable-speed pump drive for use in constant pressure systems such as presses and machine tools. It is available in the performance class 1.5-90 kW and offers energy savings that range from 40 to 70 percent. In addition, the Sytronix FcP reduces average noise emission by up to 20 dB (A), has minimal or no cooling requirements, and features a compact design to help save space.

Integrated Measuring System for Linear Motion

Building on the success of its incremental measuring system IMS-I, Bosch Rexroth is introducing the new IMS-A integrated absolute linear motion measuring system for its highly rigid ball rail and roller rail systems. The measurement accuracy of this inductive measuring system is comparable to high-precision glass scales, making it suitable to replace external measuring systems. The IMS-A supports a wide range of encoder interfaces for absolute position readout.

IndraDrive with Multi-Ethernet Functionality

The latest firmware for the Rexroth IndraDrive platform offers support for the following Ethernet-based protocols: Sercos automation bus, EtherCAT, PROFINET, Ethernet/IP and Powerlink. This multi-Ethernet support enables OEMs to use the same IndraDrive platform with many different machine controllers. Whether it's the compact IndraDrive Cs for enclosure installation or the IndraDrive Mi with a power system for new innovative cabinet-free machine designs, Rexroth has the drive and motor solutions for today's production machines.

Sercos Multi-Vendor Demo

The interactive Sercos multi-vendor demonstration highlights the interoperability of nine Sercos product suppliers featuring real-time motion, CIP Safety on Sercos, pneumatics, encoder systems, fast I/O, temperature control, and intelligent actuator and weighing systems. Visitors can experience key functionality such as hardware Ethernet redundancy without loss of operation, TCP/IP channel, highly deterministic motion and I/O communication, and CIP Safety on Sercos working on the single Sercos automation bus Ethernet network. For more than 30 years, the standardized functions, diagnostics and parameters with engineering units provided in the Sercos standard has resulted in reduced training, start-up and troubleshooting time.

Safety on Board: Intelligent and Economical Machine Safety

Bosch Rexroth integrates safety into its electric drive and controls products to monitor movement where it is generated, enabling extremely short reaction times and simpler safety architecture. The company will demonstrate three levels of integrated safety under its Safety on Board platform:

Drive-based safety with very fast response and up to 16 configurable safety modes

Distributed PLC safety with Rexroth's SafeLogic compact (SLc) small programmable safety PLC

Centralized PLC safety with the Rexroth IndraLogic XLC controller, IndraMotion MLC motion-logic platform, and IndraMotion MTX CNC.
