VersaMax(TM) Balanceable Fine Boring Heads Eliminate Vibration for High-Speed Productivity
Ramsey, MN-June 25, 2002--Command Tooling Systems has introduced VersaMax(TM) Balanceable Fine Boring Heads by Urma as the answer to vibration elimination in larger diameter high-speed boring applications. These balanceable boring heads virtually eliminate vibration for high-speed productivity at any speed up to 20,000 RPM. They are capable of limiting residual imbalance to as low as 10 g.mm. Available for bore sizes from .787" to 2.638", these balanceable boring heads notably improve roundness, accuracy, repeatability and surface finish. Their high-speed performance provides shorter cycle times and longer tool life.
VersaMax Balanceable Fine Boring Heads are easy to use. The head is set by simply positioning the calibrated balance adjustment rings to match the desired bore diameter. The bore diameter settings can be adjusted to .0002" accuracy. A Vernier scale allows adjustments to .0001" with very low backlash. Design features through-the-spindle coolant with internal passageways delivering cutting fluid directly to the cutting area without contaminating the adjustment mechanism.
