Air Power in Boom Lifts Adds Productivity
McConnellsburg, PA, March 26, 2004 - The new SkyAir(TM) accessory system from JLG Industries, Inc. lets workers efficiently use pneumatic tools in the platform of equipped boom lifts by way of an exclusive and fully integrated compressed air option.
Part of the Work Station in the Sky(TM) series of productivity enhancing accessories the compressor fits under the hood of JLG boom lifts and is driven by the JLG 7500-watt SkyPower(TM) generator. It delivers air to a platform-mounted regulator through an airline integrated into the powertrack. The SkyAir compressor can provide up to 9.3 cubic feet per minute at pressures of 125 pounds per square inch, which is enough to operate 1/2-in. drive impact wrenches, air hammers, drills and other tools.
Along with adding to productivity, the SkyAir compressor helps promote job site safety by reducing the potential dangers from airlines hanging over platform rails and the clutter of additional generators and compressors on the site. The potential of theft of separate equipment on the job is also significantly decreased since the entire system is mounted under the hood of the boom lift.
JLG estimates that labor savings by sheet metal, demolition, steel erection and other users can be as much as $800 per month, and that the savings from the elimination of compressor and generator rental and operation can be as much as an additional $1,750 per month.
For even more productivity and versatility, the SkyAir compressor provides on-board air to run the JLG SkyCutter(TM) accessory system. Another accessory that can be included is the JLG SkyWelder(TM), a 250-amp platform-mounted Miller® electric welder.
