JLG® Offers CAT® Diesel Power Option for Boom Lifts
McConnellsburg, PA, June 10, 2003, JLG Industries, Inc. has announced that newly designed Caterpillar® diesel engines are now an option on many of its telescoping boom lifts. The new engines are among the first to comply with EPA Tier 2 regulations which will become effective on January 1, 2004 and will call for limitations on emission of carbon monoxide, nitrous oxides, non-methane hydrocarbons and particulate matter.
The Caterpillar Model 3024C, 2.2 liter displacement engine rated at 50.9 hp is now available on JLG® boom lifts with 40-ft. to 46-ft. platform height. The larger Caterpillar Model 3044C with 3.3 liter displacement rated at 63.3 hp is being phased in on boom lifts with platform heights from 60-ft. up to and including 86-ft. platform heights.
