Diamond Power Introduces HydroJet(TM) Boiler Cleaning System

LANCASTER, Ohio - January 25, 2002 - Diamond Power Specialty Company, a Diamond Power International, Inc. (DPII) company, and leader in advanced boiler cleaning technology, introduces the new HydroJet boiler cleaning system. One HydroJet device can replace a complete furnace wall of sootblowers, and is designed to clean division, furnace, and wing walls. It can even clean across the entire width of the furnace inside many utility boilers. The HydroJet boiler cleaning system sets a new standard for precision, reliability and water efficiency.

"Customers are already enthusiastic about our technology because it embodies more than 30 years of water cleaning experience, proven design principles, and application best practices by Diamond Power," Eileen Competti, DPII's vice president, said. "This comprehensive solution is more effective, lowers associated operation and maintenance costs and subsequently allows for a higher return on investment to plants."

The HydroJet boiler cleaning system removes slag from areas that conventional wall blowers will not clean and at a fraction of the time. Its advanced control interface allows the operator to assess slag build-up and clean only selected furnace zones, or all zones through a sensor-driven or timed programmed sequence for furnace boiler stabilization. The operator can choose up to 30 different programmable patterns per HydroJet device to clean at a range of up to 100 feet safely and conveniently.

Each HydroJet device is designed for installation in tight spaces and requires only four feet of clear space outboard of the boiler wall, which allows room for the moving water supply hose.

One control cabinet operates up to four HydroJet devices, one at a time. Advanced motor drive technology utilized by the HydroJet boiler cleaning system enables the control cabinet to be located up to 1,000 cable feet away from the device. This gives the operator the option of locating the control cabinet in a climate-controlled environment, or any convenient location. The control cabinet also includes a local touch-screen interface for simple calibration and quick operational selection.
