Logic Product Development Offers Board Support Service for Texas Instruments' Windows(R) Embedded CE Software Development Kit for DaVinci(TM) Technology

Logic's Design Services Can Help Its TI DaVinci Technology Customers Rapidly Develop Products Using Windows(R) Embedded CE

MINNEAPOLIS, March 7 -- To meet customers' software application requirements, Logic Product Development today announced a custom board support service for Texas Instruments Incorporated's (TI) Windows(R) Embedded CE Software Development Platform (SDK) for DaVinci(TM) technology.

"As a TI Authorized Software Provider, Logic is extending its expert board support services to meet the broad base of DaVinci technology customers," said Brian Jeff, eXpressDSP digital media software marketing manager, Texas Instruments. "When paired with TI's Windows CE SDK, Logic's customized services provide a complete solution for digital video applications."

TI's Windows CE SDK includes a Windows CE 5.0 board support package (BSP), popular drivers (USB, I2C, ATA/CF, etc.), OS adaptation layer, interprocessor communication (IPC), and a DaVinci Codec Engine-based demo. The familiar Windows CE DirectShow media framework is layered on the DaVinci Codec Engine, allowing developers with limited digital signal processor (DSP) experience to access DSP-based performance for video and audio applications. The Windows CE SDK is optimized for TI's TMS320DM644x system-on-chip (SoC) processors and is fully supported by Logic.

"Logic has been working with TI on the DaVinci technology portfolio of products since before its market release, and we have been designing with the technology for quite some time," said Mark Teskey, vice president of software engineering, Logic Product Development. "With the addition of the Windows CE 5.0 operating system, we are better equipped to offer a wider range of solutions to our customers."

The Windows CE SDK for DaVinci technology is available at no additional charge to customers selecting Logic Product Development for their custom design needs.
