Bluestreak's Award Winning MachBlue(TM) Platform Now on Qualcomm BREW

MONTREAL, Canada, June 21/ - Bluestreak Technology, Inc., the developer of the MachBlue(TM) platform for mobile phones and digital television, announced today that a version of its MachBlue Mobile has been developed using Qualcomm's Binary Runtime Environment for Wireless (BREW) platform.

This iteration of MachBlue Mobile means that operators are able to deploy rich-media applications, run on Flash®-formatted(1) files - such as mobile TV/video/EPG services - across an even-wider range of devices.
Supported devices include Symbian Series 60, Symbian UIQ, Windows Mobile 2005, Linux, J2ME and now BREW. OEMs and content providers can also use this version of MachBlue to make their products easier and more convenient to use, resulting in increased adoption of video streaming.

Bluestreak CEO Paul Forostowsky commented; "Bluestreak is already recognized as the leader in bringing rich-media content and services to mobile phones. Accelerating wireless data and driving the discovery and delivery of advanced data services is integral to Bluestreak's strategy. This is also the core idea behind the BREW solution. With a flexible array of implementation options, BREW addresses specific market needs while allowing our customers to create their own differentiated solutions using underlying BREW technologies and services.

Conceived initially for CDMA networks, BREW is now being used by European GSM carriers, such as O2 and Telecom Italia Mobile.

This new evolution of the MachBlue platform comes following several major announcements for Bluestreak. At 3GSM 2007, Bluestreak announced MachBlue Mobile for J2ME compatible handsets. Over the past few months, Bluestreak has also signed numerous deals, including partnerships with Symbian and ACCESS, to establish MachBlue as the go-to platform for the development of rich-media applications on mobile phones and digital TV devices.

(1) MachBlue Mobile implements a subset of the Flash® 7 specification, supplemented with the MachBlue Mobile API enabling enhanced handset control and integration.
