Blue Passivate Process Is Hex Chrome-Free, Provides High Corrosion Protection
Springfield, MA. May 10, 2005 . Heatbath Triumph 3000 is a blue bright corrosion passivate for zinc, zinc alloy plating, zinc-based die castings and cad plate. This trivalent chromium process meets the latest automotive corrosion standards, as well as recent US automotive, EU and EC provisions.
Triumph 3000 blue passivate provides corrosion protection equal or superior to that which is achievable with yellow hexavalent chromate coatings. Salt spray performance is 96 hrs; 120 hrs. to first white rust. A bath additive boosts salt spray an additional 24 hours; with a topcoat, salt spray performance exceeds the 360-hour red rust benchmark. Triumph 3000 develops a true "blue bright" finish, and provides an excellent base for a broad range of paint.
Triumph 3000 is a durable, stable process with a long bath life and high tolerance to metallic impurities. It is suitable for both rack and barrel applications.
The process is also cost-effective, operating at 3 to 6.5% concentration, with 4% the optimum. Triumph 3000 is fluoride-free, and an excellent alternative for applications that require long-term corrosion performance without the environmental and disposal cost disadvantages of hexavalent chrome.
