Siemens Medical Solutions Diagnostics Announces the Release of the Rapidlab 1200 Series Version 2.0 Software



New Software Features Increased System Up-Time and Improved Overall Laboratory Workflow

TARRYTOWN, N.Y., Oct. 2 - Siemens Medical Solutions Diagnostics (www.siemens.com/diagnostics) announced today worldwide availability of version 2.0 software for the Rapidlab 1200(R) Series Blood Gas System. The new software will be a required upgrade for all existing customers and included on all Rapidlab 1200 systems in the future.

Designed specifically for the critical care laboratory, the Rapidlab 1200 system provides high test accuracy and comprehensive test menus including blood gas, electrolytes, metabolites and full CO-oximetry with rapid delivery of results. The Version 2.0 software continues to build on the performance and proven technology of the Rapidlab 1200 system by adding many new capabilities that can enhance patient care, including fully customizable panels for ease-of-use with frequently run profiles. Also, quality control (QC) performance is monitored and tracked through extensive QC routines that have been added to the Rapidlab 1200 base unit software to facilitate regulatory compliance.

In addition, on-line troubleshooting guidance helps to pinpoint and resolve fluidic difficulties quickly and when coupled with the improvements to the calibration sequences, the analyzer is in the 'ready' state to deliver patient results as quickly and accurately as possible
