Original Press Release:

New HuckLok(TM) double-locking, wide-grip blind rivet introduced for metals, plastics, and composites

WACO, Texas-Huck Fasteners introduces the HuckLok(TM), a blind rivet that features a generous, quarter-inch grip range to effectively join a wide range of assemblies.

HuckLok's large footprint, or "bulb," spreads the load over a broad area. This results in a more durable and dependable connection for a wide range of assemblies, and eliminates most pull-throughs when joining thin or lightweight materials, such as plastics, composites, and all kinds of pliable metals.

The high-shear, high-clamping HuckLok is designed to firmly lock assemblies from both sides. This double-locking system makes every HuckLok connection doubly secure to give incomparable performance and reliability.

By using the Huck AK275 or 2025 tools, or any other blind riveting tool of proper pull capacity, HuckLok blind rivets install precisely in seconds and require only a glance to confirm an accurate set. Quality installations cannot be undermined by worker error.

The pin of a HuckLok fastener incorporates a lock groove below the pintail neck and a shear ring below the rivet sleeve. The shear ring makes the sleeve form a bulb during the pulling sequence. As the shear ring moves deeper into the sleeve, it extrudes a support ring from the sleeve's inner surface. When the lock groove engages the shoulder of the rivet head - locking the pin within the head - the pintail snaps, the pulling motion ceases, and the sleeve wall "back fills" behind the shear ring as it travels through the sleeve.

In addition to its main functions, the shear ring also makes HuckLok's wide grip range possible. After the maximum clamp of the fastener has been achieved, from minimum to maximum grip,
the shear ring breaks free from the pin and settles into the appropriate catch groove. The clamp is consistent throughout the HuckLok's grip range.
