Original Press Release:

New Wera Kraftform Kompakt® Bit-Holding Screwdriver Is Versatile and Convenient to Use

STONEY CREEK, ONTARIO - September 2006 - Wera Tools Inc., a leader in screwdrivers, screwdriver bits and adaptors, recently introduced its new Kraftform Kompakt® 20 bit-holding screwdriver. This new screwdriver system can be used for either hand or machine-powered screw-driving operations.

With six different bits stored in the handle, users simply press the spring-operated button on top of the handle to retrieve the bits. The screwdriver features the Kraftform® handle, which is economically correct to provide a firm and comfortable grip as well as more turning power with less effort.

The bayonet blade of the Kraftform Kompakt 20 is lowered into the handle for compact storage. By pushing the green collar located near the base of the screwdriver handle, the bayonet blade is extended from the handle, and the compact tool becomes a full-sized screwdriver. When the collar is pushed again, the bayonet blade can be completely removed from the handle to be used as a power tool adaptor. The bayonet blade is easily replaced back into the handle by pushing down the collar again.

The Kraftform Kompakt 20 also has the Rapidaptor® quick-release chuck feature. This ergonomic feature allows for one-handed installation or removal of bits. The self-locking system is activated when the bit touches the screw's recess, providing a secure and wobble-free connection. For bit removal, a spring-loaded mechanism unlocks the bit and lifts it away from the magnet.

Available in different bit type combinations, the Kraftform Kompakt 20 comes with a convenient belt pouch.

"The Kraftform Kompakt 20 is ideal for users who need different screwdrivers for a project. It also is convenient for on-the-go tool needs." said Ian Parkhill, general manager of North American operations, Wera Tool.
