Wheelabrator Bi-directional EZ-Fit Wheel Improves Performance with an Improved Design

Brochure Highlights Wheel Components and Advantages

LaGrange, GA - (May 20, 2003) - Reducing cycle time while increasing component wear life, the new Wheelabrator® model bi-directional EZ-FIT(TM) wheel uses the shared knowledge and resources of USF Surface Preparation group to improve run-time costs and ease of maintenance, while increasing durability and media efficiency. Bi-directional wheels offer the inherent advantage of lowering replacement parts inventory through the ability to serve clockwise or counterclockwise wheel applications. Wheelabrator has capitalized on this advantage with a direct-drive design that offers standard or custom base mounting for increased versatility.

Through the use of the "Product Development Process," representatives of six centrifugal blast companies from the USF Surface Preparation Group have integrated global best concepts into this next generation wheel. The new integrated rear hub seal uses a special labyrinth seal configuration to minimize abrasive leaking and increase wheel life. A cast 11 - 13% Hadfield grade manganese wheel housing offers exceptional wear, while re-engineering of the wheel assembly requirements assures component alignment, without the need for alignment tools, and increases blasting efficiency. The two-piece end liner design
allows for complete interchangeability as the discharge end of the liner wears resulting in increased liner life and reduced parts inventory. An optional pivot system can move the wheel blast pattern from side to side in a continuous or indexing motion and ultimately create multiple wheel positions with a single wheel. With all of its advantages, the Wheelabrator bi-
directional EZ-FIT wheel is an ideal upgrade for an Equipment Modemization Package for new or existing equipment.

The breakthrough wheel technology applied in the new Wheelabrator® model bi-directional EZ-FIT(TM) wheel is detailed in a brochure that features illustrations of the wheel components, a list of wheel specifications and more. To request a copy of the
