Berkeley Varitronics Systems Contraband Cell Phone Detector Racks up Another Industry Award Win

Wolfhound Wins Security Products Magazine's Prestigious Readers' Choice Award

Metuchen, NJ and New Delhi, India -- Berkeley Varitronics Systems, Inc. (BVS), a leading provider of advanced wireless solutions and security products to the domestic and international wireless telecommunications industry, has won an additional award for the company's Wolfhound family of security products.

Each year, Security Products spotlights those products in the security industry deemed most interesting and relevant to its readers. The 2010 Readers' Choice Awards highlight a wide array of products from leading manufacturers in the security industry. The award is particularly prestigious because the publication's readers are the ones who select the twenty winners from among thousands of products.

In addition to the Readers' Choice award, on November 1, BVS also won the 2010 Mid-Atlantic Innovation Competition in the "Telecommunications Industry" category presented by the New Jersey Technology Council. The award was for both the Wolfhound and Wolfhound-LITE Cell Phone Detectors.

Earlier this year Wolfhound was recognized for having the leading product in the wireless security category at the 2010 GovSec Expo and Conference in Washington, D.C. Combined with the above referenced awards this now makes four high profile awards to date.

As a wireless, handheld device, the Wolfhound is a safe, legal (Wolfhound does not use jamming which is a violation of FCC rules), quick and cost-effective way to monitor and pinpoint unauthorized cell phones within correctional facilities 24 hours a day. The complete Wolfhound unit costs $1,800, which is much less than other solutions that may require an entire network infrastructure to be installed. The device can also be utilized by any government agency or organization that wants to enforce a 'no wireless policy'. This can also include schools, hospitals, airliners, etc.
