Skil® Enhances Belt Sander, Provides More Power

Expedites projects by sanding flush with vertical surfaces

Mount Prospect, Ill., March 6, 2006 - DIYers and woodworkers will appreciate the new 7500 belt sander introduced from Skil with its additional power, added features and longer lasting run time. And, its functional close edge sanding ability ensures the competition will be left in its dust.

"The Skil 7313, the predecessor to this tool, was a real workhorse in the industry and held its own for many years," said Philip Branker, product manager for Skil Power Tools. "But this new tool is like a Clydesdale with 33 percent more power than the older one. If you thought the 7313 was good, you're going to love the 7500."

The 3″x18″ belt sander has a powerful 6.0 amp motor, to help do-it-yourselfer's sand their projects faster and better than ever. The sander features the exclusive Skil Auto Track Control(TM) that ensures the belt will stay centered during use, which means the user will not waste time or damage their work fiddling with adjusting mechanisms. The 7500 is equipped with a Micro Filter Dust Canister, which collects dust and fine particulate to maintain a clean work area.

This 7500 is capable of sanding flush against vertical surfaces so the user no longer needs to finish corners with a hand sanding pad. The tool comes equipped with a vacuum adapter to allow for dust-free sanding and has a lock-on button for less fatigue and more comfort during extended use. The soft grip handles also provide comfort, ensuring the tedious task of sanding is less bothersome.

The new Skil belt sander easily sands such large surfaces as decks, hardwood floors and countertops. Its rapid removal rate makes it ideal for large projects that require a bit of elbow grease. Users will also find it helpful for leveling table legs and ensuring flush edges when joining boards. The 7500 Skil Belt Sander can also be inverted into the Skil X-Shop, which allows for shaping and rounding wood.

Included with the sander is one 80 grit sanding belt. The tool is currently available at home improvement centers nationwide.
