Bell and Howell's New JETVision® Technology to be Featured at PRINT 13

Portable Inspection System and Read and Print System Give Users Enhanced Flexibility for Quality and Integrity, and Improves Message Impact

Durham, N.C. – Bell and Howell, a leading global provider of multi-channel communications solutions for print, Web and mobile delivery, today unveiled the next-generation systems powered by its popular JETVision® reading technology. The JETVision® Quest and JETVision® Read & Print systems, representing the latest customer-inspired solutions, will be featured in booth 2614 through Sept. 12 at the PRINT 13 tradeshow in Chicago.

"With our new JETVision Quest, we’ve designed the industry's first fully portable reading system. Users can now bring reading technology directly to the processes and systems where they need it most," noted Mike Maselli, Vice President, Management and Messaging Software Solutions. "In virtually minutes, the system can be placed in a new operational location. This means users are no longer locked in to one reading system per machine – JETVision Quest goes where you need it, when you need it."

In addition to its portability, JETVision Quest has a fully articulating arm that can be adjusted to read in places that previously required fixed-mounted vision technology. Whether reading down on a card line, reading up on a web press, or set up to read horizontally on a rewinder, JETVision Quest can adjust to virtually any production need.

JETVision Read & Print provides a comprehensive selection of print head technologies with a large selection of UV, solvent and water-based ink sets. Combining this ink-jet solution diversity with the robust capabilities of JETVision has enabled the flexibility to supply the right read and print solution to match unique production requirements.

"JETVision Read & Print is a scalable solution and offers more than just basic read and print functionality," added Maselli. "The vision system is capable of multi-piece matching, tracking, print inspection, quality inspection, base stock validation, barcode grading and much more. JETVision Read & Print can be added to print, fulfillment, packaging, bindery, mailing and card lines to streamline work processes and offer new revenue opportunities."
