Belden® Unveils New Network Connectivity Products to Improve Data Center and Telecom Performance and Optimize Floor Space

RICHMOND, IN - Belden, a world leader in the development of signal transmission solutions for wired and wireless enterprise networks, as well as industrial, broadcast, residential and building management/security markets, has introduced three innovative connectivity products designed to improve performance and provide optimum versatility and flexibility in data center and network telecommunications applications.

The new products include:
Belden AngleFlex(TM) Patch Panels. This new patch panel series is designed to facilitate intuitive patch cord routing and eliminate the need for horizontal cable management in data centers and telecommunications room installations. When all cords are routed to one side, the use of this panel optimizes floor space by eliminating one vertical manager and providing a 27% space savings per rack. Available in 24-port/1U and 48-port/2U configurations, the AngleFlex Patch Panels can be configured using any Belden keystone-style KeyConnect(TM) UTP or Multimedia Modules.

AngleFlex Patch Panels feature a reversible angled design (patent pending) which enables left, right or bi-directional routing of patch cords and faster, more efficient panel-to-switch connections - while ensuring that jacks and plugs are properly aligned for optimal connectivity and performance. In addition, Belden AngleFlex Patch Panels' compact size and shallow, low profile design helps to conserve interior cabinet space and provide easier access for termination and maintenance.
Belden KeyConnect(TM) Patch Panels. This comprehensive series includes all-metal, preloaded and modular patch panels to provide greater design flexibility and space utilization in high-density data centers and telecom room installations. The preloaded KeyConnect Patch Panels are available in 24-port/1U and 48-port/2U configurations with Belden 10GX® and CAT6+ keystone-style KeyConnect Modular Jacks. The modular KeyConnect Patch Panels are available in 24-port/1U, 48-port/2U, 72-port/2U, and 48-port/1U configurations and can be configured using any KeyConnect Module.

Belden KeyConnect Patch Panels feature a robust construction to allow for punch down termination directly on the back of the panel. Applications include horizontal cross-connect or interconnect distribution, data center equipment terminations, and interconnect terminations in consolidation points.

Belden CAT6+ and CAT5E Bonded-Pair Modular Cords. This new series of patch cords is comprised of Belden's Bonded-Pair cable and an improved flexible boot construction to ensure optimum electrical performance, even in high-density installations which experience frequent handling stresses. These are the industry's only cords that pass the TIA's stringent mechanical stress reliability specifications. Applications include patch panel or equipment connections in data centers and telecom rooms, consolidation point connections, and telecom outlet or MUTOA connections.

Belden's robust Bonded-Pair construction - a patented design that bonds individual insulated conductors together - ensures exceptional structural stability and electrical performance in environments where moves, adds and changes are frequent. Moreover, the Bonded-Pair cable's small diameter enables greater flexibility and higher density installation. The cords' solid conductors improve attenuation and are key to the reliable performance of the long patch cords and pigtails that are often required in Data Centers.
