Bedford Reinforced Plastics to Exhibit at 2015 Offshore Technology Conference in Houston, Texas

BEDFORD, Pa., – Bedford Reinforced Plastics, a leading manufacturer of fiberglass-reinforced polymer (FRP) structural profiles, pultruded and molded grating, will be exhibiting at the 2015 Offshore Technology Conference (OTC2015) at NRG Park in Houston, Texas from May 4-7(th), 2015.

Founded in 1969, the Offshore Technology Conference is the world's foremost event for the development of offshore resources in the fields of drilling, exploration, production, and environmental protection. Held annually in Houston, Texas, OTC is attended by over 90,000 industry professionals from over 120 countries, and is sponsored by multiple industry organizations and societies, who work cooperatively to develop comprehensive annual technical programs.

"Offshore oil and gas is a very important segment for us," says Eric Kidd, marketing director, Bedford Reinforced Plastics. "Constant exposure to salt water and salt air is a challenge for offshore rigs and oil and gas refineries, and our FRP won't corrode, fade, rust or spark, so it's ideal for handrails, stairs, platforms, catwalks, caged ladders and other structures. Also, structural FRP offers the strength of steel at a fraction of the weight, so for offshore applications it's much easier and more cost-efficient to transport and install in comparison to traditional structural materials."

Bedford Reinforced Plastics will exhibit their current product line, which includes PROForms® pultruded FRP structural shapes, PROGrate® pultruded FRP grating, PROGrid® molded FRP grating and PROPlate® FRP flat sheet, as well as custom profiles, caged ladders and complete assemblies including catwalks, platforms, stairs and handrails available for the offshore oil and gas industries.
