Successful Mobile WiMAX system test demonstration complies with Sprint network requirements
Santa Clara, USA; December 12, 2007: Beceem Communications, a leading provider of terminal chipsets for Mobile WiMAX, today announced the completion of the first major milestone of Mobile WiMAX equipment initial interoperability testing performed between Beceem's chipset and Sprint's WiMAX infrastructure as part of the Sprint Mobile WiMAX device launch preparations.
This milestone achievement is important as it shows the commercial readiness of WiMAX equipment and chipsets in preparation for the timely launch of Sprint's Xohm(TM) Mobile Broadband Service, which is expected to begin during the 2nd quarter of 2008.
