SKF® Y-Bearings And Bearing Units Ideal For High And Low Temperature Operations

SPECIALLY ENGINEERED FOR EXTREME CONDITIONS:

SKF® Y-bearings can operate reliably at temperature extremes up to 350º C (660º F) or as low as -150º C (-238º F) and can withstand widely varying and large temperature differences encountered in applications such as conveyor systems for ovens, industrial furnaces, kiln trucks, high-temperature fans, and others where normal rolling bearings would be unsuitable due to the severe conditions.

Bearing arrangements can further be mounted in several types of available housings to create simple and cost-effective units to help reduce machine operating costs and promote high performance and extended service life.

Features of these bearings include large radial internal clearance available in ranges according to required operating temperatures; specially designed cages of steel or graphite; and pressed steel shields and flingers at both sides to repel solid contaminants. All bearing surfaces are treated with manganese phosphate to protect against corrosion and improve running properties.

Housing designs for bearing units include pillow block; flanged with square housing and four bolt holes; and flanged with oval housing and two bolt holes. All units are made from gray cast iron for ruggedness and durability.

Y-bearings for extreme temperatures are available in various series with inch and metric sizes. Units incorporate special lubricants selected to withstand the operating environment and are lubricated for the life of the bearing to minimize maintenance. Customized solutions can be developed to satisfy the most demanding or extreme application requirements.
