Bearings upgrade centrifugal pumps to ANSI+ standards.

Press Release Summary:

Series 5300UPG MRC bearings consist of 40º, double-row, angular contact ball bearings and machined brass cage. Designed as drop-in units, they eliminate need for machining and exhibit performance similar to paired single-row angular contact ball bearings. Products offer optimized axial clearance that promotes load sharing between 2 rows of balls and reduces possibility of skidding in inactive ball set. ABEC 3 (P6) tolerances contribute to smooth bearing operation.

MRC 'UPG Series' Pump Bearings Enable Quick and Easy Upgrades to ANSI+ Standards

KULPSVILLE, PA, June 24, 2003 - New MRC Pump Bearings from MRC Bearing Services provide quick and easy solutions for upgrading centrifugal pumps to meet ANSI+ standards without the time-consuming and costly modifications typically associated with upgrades. Their design and performance can enhance operation of ANSI-style pumps in the most demanding industry applications.

These MRC Pump Bearings (5300UPG Series) consist of 40º double-row angular contact ball bearings and a machined brass cage designed and supplied as "drop-in" units. The units eliminate any need for special machining and exhibit similar performance to conventional paired single-row angular contact ball bearings without the associated costs.

Compared with conventional bearing alternatives, MRC Pump Bearings can increase thrust capacity due to their relatively steep 40º contact angle; their robust machined brass cage can provide longer service life in heavy-duty and marginal lubrication conditions; optimized axial clearance promotes load sharing between the two rows of balls and reduces the possibility of skidding in the inactive ball set; and ABEC 3 (P6) tolerances contribute to smoother bearing operation.

Users can choose from a variety of MRC Pump Bearing sizes within the UPG series. (Available sizes include those most commonly utilized in ANSI style centrifugal pumps.) MRC further can develop made-to-order (MTO) warranted products through a dedicated MTO program established to meet customized application demands.
