Beanstream Standardizes on nCircle Certified PCI Scan Service(TM) to Assess Merchant Security and Compliance

nCircle Offers Free Quarterly PCI Certification Scan for Approved Merchants

SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 6 / -- nCircle, the leading provider of agentless security risk and compliance management solutions, today announced that Beanstream Internet Commerce Inc, a leading Canadian provider of authentication and electronic payment processing solutions, will use the nCircle Certified PCI Scan Service to assess the security and PCI compliance of all merchants that apply to conduct online business using Beanstream's payment network.

As an integral part of the approval process, Beanstream scans an online merchant's network for vulnerabilities and other potential sources of intrusions using the nCircle Certified PCI Scan Service. Using the certified PCI report which indicates the merchant's level of security and PCI compliance status, Beanstream approves the merchant to join its payment network if compliant, or the merchant can address any identified security risks before being granted a merchant account to enable e-commerce.

"It is important for us to ensure that none of our merchants introduce any security risks that could adversely affect our payment network's availability when they join our payment network," said Craig Thomson, CEO of Beanstream. "We are pleased to be working with nCircle, a market leader who delivers a certified, automated scan service to help us maintain the highest levels of security and PCI compliance while at the same time accelerating business growth."

The nCircle Certified PCI Scan Service, among the first to be certified under the PCI Data Security Standard v1.1, is a fully automated solution that enables merchants and service providers of all sizes to cost-effectively demonstrate compliance with the standard on a quarterly basis. It is based on nCircle's enterprise-class, market-leading security risk and compliance management technology used by more than 3500 customers worldwide to identify, measure, manage and reduce security risk and automate compliance on their networks.

"Beanstream is a payment solutions provider reputed in the industry for its one-stop delivery of a full suite of e-commerce solutions. We are excited to be working with them to ensure the highest levels of security and PCI compliance as they continue to add more online merchants to their payment network," said Karl Hutter, Vice President of Business Development at nCircle.
