Beam Transformation Systems support 600-1,600 nm wavelengths.

Press Release Summary:

Available with pitches of 200, 400, and 500 µm, Beam Transformation Systems bundle and symmetrize asymmetrical laser beams generated by diode laser bars and mini bars. Residual divergence ranging from 12 to under 5.0 ensures high beam quality. To achieve best possible performance for specific application, systems use 4 Fast Axis Collimators that have been optimized for short focal lengths.

Original Press Release:

The Quick-change Artist from Dortmund Vitamin B(TS) for Laser Expanded Portfolio with 10 Systems

They are small, inconspicuous und transparent: Beam Transformation Systems (BTS) bundle and symmetrise asymmetrical laser beams generated by diode laser sources (bars). With its expanded portfolio of ten BTS, LIMO is now able to offer the largest selection and widest range of these quick-change artists for (almost) any application.

“Our Beam Transformation Systems turn the very asymmetrical output of a bar laser source into a symmetrical beam”, says Dr. Oliver Homburg, Director for Advanced Optical Solutions at LIMO Lissotschenko Mikrooptik GmbH in Dortmund. “Users need a BTS to create a free laser beam or to feed the beam into a round fiber. Our new range of BTS, which has been expanded to 10 systems, is surely the largest standard portfolio available anywhere in the world.”

The 10 quick-change artists from Dortmund with pitches of 200, 400 and 500 µm are suitable for converting the light from standard diode laser bars and mini bars. BTS are available for wavelengths from 600 to 1600 nm. High beam quality is assured thanks to excellent residual divergence that ranges from 13 to under 5.0 mrad. To achieve the best possible performance for a specific application, LIMO uses 4 Fast Axis Collimators (FAC160, FAC286, FAC365 und FAC410) that have been optimized for short focal lengths.

The effectiveness of these high-performance optics systems is critically dependent on how they are mounted, which is why LIMO offers its customers a special service. “We offer automated BTS assembly”, explains Dr. Homburg. “This is an important addition to LIMO’s newly expanded BTS portfolio. Please get in touch with us if there are any questions about your specific applications. We are sure that we have a made-to-measure solution using the elements of our enlarged standard portfolio.” More details will be available at the Photonics West trade show in San Francisco, CA, USA (February 10 12, 2015, South Hall, Booth #2405).
