Bay Area Hospital Streamlines Reporting Workflow with Digisonics Solution

HOUSTON (May 7, 2018) – Bay Area Hospital in Coos Bay, Ore. has implemented the Digisonics system for a streamlined OB/GYN ultrasound reporting workflow.

Improved interoperability between the facility’s Siemens Plaza PACS and Digisonics provides users with convenience of being able to quickly review patient images in Siemens while simultaneously creating the clinical report in Digisonics. The interface allows the clinician to complete all work from a single workstation with direct patient synchronization occurring in the background, streamlining their workflow and optimizing their time.

Manual data entry workflows are eliminated by interfaces to autopopulate data directly from the facility’s Philips and GE ultrasound machines into the Digisonics report, improving accuracy and patient safety. HL7 Interfaces and PDF Export will ensure seamless data flow between Digisonics, OPENLink and Cerner.

Aron Boesl, Supervisor of Medical Imaging at Bay Area Hospital, complimented the process of working with the Digisonics implementations team noting the group functioned like a “well-oiled machine” that “kept on timelines, critical for our roll out”.

Doug Ross, RIS/PACS Admin appreciated the smooth process from contracting through implementation, noting that the “Professional and courteous sales team provided exactly what we asked for,” and that during the system implementation phase, “We worked with very skilled technical representatives and knowledgeable application specialists from Digisonics during the process leading to a successful implementation and live event.”

By deploying the Digisonics solution, Bay Area Hospital has automated their reporting workflow resulting in improved turnaround times, eliminated human input error and better overall patient care.
