George Fischer Signet Introduces Battery Powered Flow Totalizer For Multi-Year Operation

Simultaneous Flow Rate and Total Flow Volume Display Reduces Unit Usage

Offered in Paddlewheel Assemblies, Compatible with Range of Flow Sensor Versions

El Monte, California, May 27, 2004 - George Fischer Signet, Inc. announces the new Signet 8150 Battery Powered Flow Totalizer, designed for use in applications where battery-powered operation is most effective. Applications include wastewater flow accumulation, water treatment systems, remote or mobile treatment and distribution systems, irrigation, filtration, and a number of process flow and cooling uses.

The 8150 features use of long-lasting, standard lithium batteries, ideal for remote or mobile installations where access to line power is limited. Because of its low power consumption design, these batteries are rated to last up to 4 years (nominal). The unit is offered with three totalizers; two are resettable for long and short term monitoring and the third is permanent. A large LCD displays both flow rate and total flow volume simultaneously, offering an all-in-one display solution that saves valuable panel space and avoids added unit cost.

Simple-to-operate from its four-button keypad and intuitive software allow easy, menu-driven operation. Menu set-up, one of the two resettable totalizers, and calibrations are accessible with a user selectable, 4-digit security access code. The 8150 is available in both integral and panel-mounted styles and can be provided with optional kits for integral (in-line) or pipe mounting with NEMA 4X protection.

Panel mount versions feature a NEMA 4X front and an optional rear cover kit for enclosure protection. For security, the 8150 can be programmed by user selectable access code to prevent unwanted changes. The 8150 can also be mounted to a surface near the sensor via an optional Universal Adapter Kit (3-8050).

Additional applications for the 8150 include commercial pools and spas, groundwater remediation, UPW distribution, HVAC, demineralizer regeneration and neutralization systems.
