Greenlee's New ES1000 Cable Cutter Does the Job in about Eight Seconds

It only takes about eight seconds for Greenlee's new ES1000 battery powered cable cutter to cleanly cut 1000 kcmil copper and aluminum cable. The ES1000 comes with a 2-1/8-inch diameter blade opening that makes it the perfect solution for cutting jacketed underground cables.

"We've found that contractors who need to make many cuts of large sized cables, say 250 kcmil and larger, will find the ES1000 to be a labor saver," said Jim Eisele, Greenlee Senior Product Manager. "We also found that network and underground utility crews will like the ES1000's capability to cut jacketed cables."

The ES1000 is equipped with a forward/reverse lever so that if the end-user changes their mind about cutting a cable, they can shift the lever and fully open the blades. The blades on the ES1000 are extra thick so they don't flex during a cut and they are precision ground. This combination results in thousands of smooth cuts.

The ES1000's light weight (under 7-½ pounds) and small size (only 14-¾" long) makes it easy to store on a truck, carry to the jobsite, and operate in tight spaces. The new product uses a 14.4 volt battery that performs approximately 35 cuts in 1000 kcmil copper per battery charge and recharges in about one hour. Each tool includes two batteries, a molded carrying case and the choice of a 120 volt or 230 volt battery charger.
