Digatron Firing Circuits Introduces BC/HD (Battery Charging / High Density) Battery Formation Rectifier

SHELTON, CT/August 1, 2002 - Digatron Firing Circuits, a manufacturer of battery test and formation products, introduces its BC/HD (battery charging/high density) battery formation rectifier. The system is the latest generation of Plug-In module cabinets and offers multiple updates and advantages over earlier models, including a smaller footprint and advanced internal circuitry.

The BC/HD system is designed primarily for the formation of automotive, or flooded, lead acid batteries; however, it is also well suited for VRLA applications. Likewise, with available outputs up to 60 amperes, the system can also be used for high production water bath formation installations.

Firing Circuits' modularized system offers updated electronics with all control circuitry contained on a single PC board. This, combined with improvements in packaging efficiency, results in higher circuit density and a corresponding reduction in the unit's required floor space. Depending upon output and control requirements, the cabinets utilize either the Micro Me cabinet controller or the new MicroForm-SB (single board) stand-alone microprocessor controller.

BC/HD systems are available in with output currents of 10 to 60 amperes and output voltages up to 450 VDC. The company works closely with customers to design and build systems that suit specific applications.

Digatron Firing Circuits is an industry leader in the production of battery formation and testing equipment essential to the automotive, material handling, telecommunication, defense, consumer electronics, aviation, and aerospace industries. The company also provides training and technical support services to clients worldwide. With global headquarters in Germany, the company operates a North American division based out of Shelton, Conn.
