Basket Strainer for Corrosive Applications
Hayward Filtration's Model 72L carbon steel simplex basket strainer features a continuous lining of Tefzel®, an advanced fluoropolymer resin similar to Teflon®. This isolates the carbon steel from the process media making the strainers suitable for a wide variety of corrosive applications. These applications include wastewater treatment, chemical and petrochemical processing, paper mills, hazardous materials, flue gas systems, and ultrapure water. Basket strainers are used in these applications to remove particulate matter that could cause damage to system components such as pumps, flow meters, and instrumentation.
What makes the Model 72L from Hayward Filtration unique is that the body and cover of the strainer are lined, not just coated, with Tefzel. Coatings are thin and can crack or be compromised by chemical attack or abrasion. This thick, Tefzel lining will stand up to the most aggressive and demanding of applications. Tefzel will stand up to process medias that could cause rapid deterioration of other types of plastics, not to mention most metals.
Hayward Filtration has several choices of strainer baskets for the Model 72L. Tefzel coated baskets can be specified as well as baskets made of Hastelloy® C, Monel® or Titanium depending on the application requirements. All types of baskets are available in a wide range of perforation and mesh sizes.
The Model 72L simplex basket strainer from Hayward Filtration is available in sizes for 1" through 6" pipelines and comes standard with 150# ANSI flanged piping connections and FPM seals. All sizes feature quick opening, yoke style covers that make basket cleaning/changing quick and easy.
