BASF Elastollan® TPU Adhesive Receives NSF Standard 61 Approval


WYANDOTTE, MI, March 24, 2009 - BASF, the first thermoplastic polyurethanes (TPU) manufacturer to receive the NSF Standard 61 approval for its Elastollan® TPU for CIPP (cured-in-place pipe) applications used for trenchless infrastructure repairs, is also the first to receive the approval for Elastollan® ET 3685-11 TPU adhesive for CIPP.

"The approval by the NSF for potable water applications reinforces BASF Polyurethanes' commitment to this industry as we continue to work on new developments and product innovations."

The Elastollan adhesive is used in potable water CIPP construction to assemble the product. Benefits include low activation temperatures (145 degrees Celsius and 293 degrees Fahrenheit) and excellent flexibility at low temperatures.
