BASF Catalysts Achieves Milestone with 200 Power Generation Oxidation Catalysts Operating for More Than 10 Years


ISELIN, NJ, April 1, 2009 - BASF Catalysts recently achieved a significant durability milestone with its Camet® CO Oxidation Catalysts. As of March, the company has supplied power-generation customers, with a total of 200 oxidation catalysts systems, all operating for more than 10 years.

Oxidation catalysts remove harmful carbon monoxide (CO) from the exhaust of gas and oil-fired power plants. The proven capability of Camet® CO Oxidation Catalysts is a result of an innovative manufacturing process that provides an efficient design for cost-effective performance.

BASF Catalysts has been servicing the power generation industry for more than 20 years, with nearly 700 oxidation catalyst units operating worldwide. Almost all of the power generation oxidation catalysts that the company has supplied are still running, including the very first installation made in 1986.
